Here’s what you can get with your Vivint smart system
Unlike other smart home companies, Vivint’s smart home systems are available to renters. Here are a few of the most in demand components and services:
Intrusion prevention
Motion alarms and glass sensors can alert you when an uninvited intruder enters your apartment or rental house. Get an alert to your mobile device as an sensor goes off, or activate your devices remotely and let in guests or maintenance when you’re at work.
Environmental safety detectors
Smoke detectors will come standard with your rental unit, but not other CO or water detectors. Place a wireless carbon monoxide alarm or flood sensor to warn you and your monitoring team to problems before it’s too late.
HD security cameras
A security cameras may be wirelessly hung so you can keep watch on certain rooms. A doorbell camera allows you view -- and speak to -- whoever is at the door. Watch live HD feeds and alerts about lurkers through your mobile app.
24-hour monitoring
One of the benefits of going with Vivint is the monitoring team that back up triggered alarms. When a component goes off, your monitoring agents quickly contacts you to see if you’re safe. Then they’ll turn around and contact the fire or police departments.
Automation components
Smart items, such as smart lighting, can be put in to make your apartment more eco-friendly. Some items like a replacement smart thermostat or smart door locks may involve prior landlord approval.
The Vivint App
Your College Station security system is able to be managed anywhere with the Vivint App. View HD security camera feeds, remotely turn on and off alarms and cameras, or program times for all your smart devices. Then allow texts to your smartphone if an alarm goes off or a camera picks up unsavory activity.
